Lockdown update : Telangana and AP

The Telangana government has decided to extend the lockdown till May 7th with- out any relaxation. Chief Minister KCR made this decision after the state cabinet meeting. He made it clear that Telangana state will extend the lockdown by four days as the nation-wide lockdown will end by May 3rd. Centre has issued guidelines for relaxations for certain sectors but considering the prevailing situation in the state , state cabinet decided to not to give any relaxations to any sector. It even asked online delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato to hold on to its operations till the lockdown after looking at few incidents where the delivery boy found to be having corona virus.  As of Monday evening, total number of COVID -19 positive cases in Telangana is 872.


Andhra Pradesh:


Situation is different in Andhra Pradesh even though the number of positive cases are climbing every day. Lock down will be till May 3rd and no decision has been taken on extension. Andhra Pradesh government has issued guidelines for operation of certain industries and activities with reasonable safeguard outside the containment zones to ensure supplies are not effected during the lockdown.


Industries that are allowed to operate are: all types of rice and oil mills, dal mills, roller flour mills, dairy products, reverse osmosis and distilled water plants/packaged drinking water, food products like vermicelli, biscuits, fruit juice/pulp, sugar, bulk drugs, IV sets and other medical equipment like suction machines and pipes for oxygen supply, PPE gear, surgical equipment, gauge and bandage cloth. Apart from this, Pharmaceutical formulations and R&D, liquid soaps, detergents, phenyl, floor cleaners, bleaching powder etc., masks and bodysuits, paper napkins, diapers/sanitary napkins, oxygen for domestic gas cylinders, cold storages, warehousing, logistics, agro-based industries like chilli, turmeric, salt and spices, bakery and confectioneries, ice plants, fish feed, poultry feed, cattle feed etc., all types of power generations including solar, Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicine manufacturing units, packaging industries, effluent treatment plants, and seed processing units are allowed to operate with 50% work force.


Unlike, the other telugu state, Andhra Pradesh has allowed Amazon, FlipKart and Walmart are allowed to do their operations with the government laid safety guidelines. Swiggy and Zomato are also allowed to operate in the state. They will be delievering fresh Fruits and Vegetables at your doorstep in partnership with Department of Agriculture.
