Telangana decides on 27 districts

Finally, after a long exercise, the Telangana Government has made a freeze on sketching a total of 27 districts Telangana map. 17 new districts are going to be born out if bifurcation of the existing 10 districts.

Chief Minister KCR had a six-hour long meeting on Wednesday to discuss the cabinet sub-committee report on the projected new districts.

As per the sub-committee report, the number of suggested districts is 27. The number of revenue divisions are to be increased from 44 to a total of 74. And also there will be an increase in the number of Mandals, from 459 to 533. Cabinet committee chairman and the Telangana deputy CM Mahamood Ali, CS Rajeev Sharma, CCLA,Raymond, Pradeep Chandra from the revenue department and several other IAS and other officers also attended this meeting.

As per the finalized list, the 27 districts are: (1) Manchiryala, (2) Adilaabad (3) Nirmal, (4) Karimnagar (5) Peddapally (6) Jagityal (7) Mahabubabad (8) Warangal (9) Hanmakonda (10) Bhoopalpally (11)  Siddipet (12) Medak (13) Sangareddy (14) Nizamabad (15) Kamareddy (16) Nalgonda (17) Suryapet (18) Yadadri(19) Mahbubnagar (20) Nagarkarnool (21) Vanaparthy (22) Khammam (23) Kothagudem (24) Old Hyderabad (25) Vikarabad (RR) (26) Shamshabad (RR) and (27) Malkajgiri (RR).
