The waywardness and rude behavior of JC Diwakar Reddy push him into an awkward situation. He misbehaved with the Indigo airlines staff at Visakhapatnam airport on June 16, 2017 when the staff refused to on board him the flight because of his late arrival. He received criticism from everywhere against his misconduct, being a Rajya Sabha member of AP state’s ruling Telugu Desam party. This incident led to the virtual banning of MP’s travel by air by almost all the domestic airlines. Since then, Diwakar Reddy has been facing a tough time in travelling anywhere in the country.
After experiencing the ban for 3 weeks, JC has finally filed a writ petition in the Hyderabad High Court seeking to permit him in all the major domestic flights by taking off the one-sided ban imposed on him. He made the union Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, Air India, Jet Airways, Vistara Airlines, Indigo, Go Air, Air Asia, Spice Jet, Turbo Megha Airways as respondents in his petition. He mentioned that all these organizations suppressed his fundamental rights by banning him from the domestic flights. The MP made. He contended that imposing a ban on his flying without any inquiry, without any notice to him or without proving his guilt in any manner, is illegal, arbitrary and violative of his fundamental rights. He also added that because of his age, he cannot use any other mode of travel especially to make a long distance travel within the country.
