Andhra Pradesh bagged a total of 3 positions out of the top-10-list of cleanest cities in India. The central Government releases this list every year. This list is being finalized by the Quality Council of India as a part of 'Swachh Survekshan” for the year 2018, led by the Prime Minister, Modi. The 3 AP cities are Vijayawada, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam came in row as 5th, 6th, and 7th ranks respectively. It is the first time that Vijayawada city has ever grabbed such an honor. The credit goes to the AP CM Chandrababu who possesses a strong commitment in maintaining the cleanliness and greenness of the cities under his administration.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Saturday, handed over this year's award to Indore and Bhopal City Authorities for combinedly getting the first rank in the cleanest cities’ list and congratulated the other cities, Chandigarh, Navi Mumbai, Pune, New Delphi etc
