The Magistrate of Kadapa on Monday issued orders extending Chintu’s judicial remand up to January 13. Chintu is the main suspect in the murder case of Chittoor Mayor, Katari Anuradha and her husband, Katari Mohan. Along with Chintu, there are 14 people who are accused in this sensational murder case. Before they are presented in front of the Kadapa magistrate on Monday, they were brought from the Kadapa central jail. To recap, the Mayor of the Chittoor municipal town, Katari Anuradha (50) and her husband, Katari Mohan (56), both belonging to the Telugu Desam Party, were killed in a gang attack at the mayor’s chambers at the corporation office in Chittoor town in the 2nd week of November 2015. While Anuradha died on the spot, Mohan died nine hours later at the CMC hospital in Vellore. Two of the five assail-ants have surrendered before the police. This is the first time that a senior woman politician of the state has been murdered.
