As per the schedule, the Apex council meeting on Krishna river water distribution, held in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao and other legislators from both the states including Harish Rao.
The council under the Union Minister, Uma Bharti also wanted to constitute joint action teams for the river brain study on both the sides, these teams constitute of experts from both the States and also from the Centre. These teams will be extensively research the water flow and intake by both states and will send the report on actual water sharing which will be forwarded to Krishna tribunal for the final decision. Both the CMs also suggested to implement a telemetric system which measures the intake of Krishna water, consumed by both states.
However, the meeting was held under cordial atmosphere. Uma Bharati announced to press that the two states agreed on three important issues and out of which, two issues can be directly dealt between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States among themselves without an involvement of a Third party.
