Sankranti bonanza: 5 lakh crore investments in AP

The 22nd edition of Confederate of Indian Industry or CII Partnership Summit, concluded in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. The three day Partnership Summit showcased the investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh especially the Infrastructure, IT, Tourism and with the sole focus of creating more employment opportunities especially after the bifurcation of the state.

With the caption of “Sun Rise Andhra Pradesh”, the partnership summit was able to attract huge investments worth of 5 lakh crores and more than big 100 MoU’s. The huge investments results in massive employment opportunities for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu says the response to Partnership Summit and enthusiasm to invest in Andhra Pradesh is tremendous. He promised to conduct such partnership summits regularly.

Notable contributions in the partnership summit:

Medical devices manufacturing park to be established in A.P. with a potential investment of Rs.20, 000 cr.

Two MoUs - one for investing Rs.13,000 cr in silica to solar power panel production

MoU -Rs.73,000 cr for setting up smart industrial township in 10,000 hectares involving at least 200 industries

Tourism sector has attracted 26 MoUs with proposed investment of Rs. 4,659 crore

Centre to sanction Rs.100 crore to each smart city sanctioned as seed money

Hudco signs MoI for lending loan of Rs.7,500 crore to support development in and around Amaravati

TDP MP and Industrialist Jayadev Galla-owned Amara Raja Group has committed to investments worth Rs 5,000 crores.
