Suriya’s Singam 3 aka S3 which was postponed earlier for Ram Charan’s Dhruva seems to be postponed again. Singam 3 which is a bilingual movie (Telugu, Tamil) is postponed in both the languages. Even though there is no official announcement yet on the postponement but there is a strong buzz following Vardah cyclone in Tamil Nadu and also the grief kind of atmosphere in Tamil Nadu because of Jayalalithaa’s demise. Cycle Vardah has devastated coastal parts of Tamil Nadu along with Chennai. People are yet to come out of this natural devastation. Apart from that the demonetization effect is still taking the toll on the people with long queues before ATM’s in most part of Chennai and rural areas.
Makers know that Singam 3 will defenately have good mass following because of its content. Situation especially in B and C Centers has not improved due to cash crunch. Only the multiplexes are doing good business when coming to movies. Last 2 tollywood hits, Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada and Dhruva has good openings in A Centers and Multiplexes but the turnout is poor still in B and C Centers. Singham 3 will have to depend heavily on the B and C Center collections to make it a profitable venture.
In addition to these two reasons, already people are struggling to get money as the government hasn't increased the cash withdrawal limit. As there's a severe cash crunch emerged due to demonetisation of 86% of currency, people in towns and villages finding it very difficult to barely manage expenditure for daily needs.
More details are yet to officially announced.
