From Vijayawada to United Nations Youth Assembly

“Vijayawada Needs You”-VnU is a non-for-profit organization developed in order to encourage and create platform for youth to be the torch bearers of the nation. This organization works to take a bigger responsibility in building India as per the aspirations of the Youth by making Youth as the decision making body.

Naga Sravan Kilaru, Founder and President of ‘Vijayawada Needs U’ (VnU), has been selected as an international delegate from India for the Youth Assembly, an event that is going to be conducted by the United Nations Organization in the New York City from August 10th to 12th. Right now, Sravan is working with fellow youth participants from the countries like Canada, United States, Brazil, Malaysia and  to make proposals on defining the role and the involvement of youth in policy making and on how to utilize youth as a resource to implement Sustainable Development Goals.

As a part of Sravan’s US tour, he will also attend the 71th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 71) at the United Nations Headquarters from September 13th.

After getting selected from India for this prestigious event, Sravan said to Media that, “My aim is to find likeminded youth and organizations at the United Nations Youth and General Assembly and to team up with them to evolve policies for the benefit of youth. As per the surveys, India was ranked 110th out of 149 countries in implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.
